Some à la carte restaurants such as Frutos del Mar and Ku'uk need a reservation and semi-formal dress.
What is there to do beyond the resort?
Akumal means place of turtles, and its bay is known for snorkeling with green sea turtles. The best time for turtles is May to October. The Tulum ruins are roughly a 20-25 minute drive, and Xcaret is about 35 minutes away. Many day tours combine Tulum, cenotes and turtle snorkeling in one outing.
What should I know about getting to the resort and arrival times?
Check-in starts at 15:00 and check-out is at noon. The drive from Cancún Airport takes just over an hour, and Tulum Airport is about 60 minutes away. Airport transfers can be booked as an add-on and are not automatically included. Self-parking at the resort is free.
