It works for all three. A couple gets a private plunge pool and a quiet terrace. A family of up to four has a single bedroom with the choice of beds. For a longer stay, the desk and laptop workspace, wardrobe, iron and ironing board, coffee and tea maker and daily housekeeping all help. The resort is a beachfront family resort with a Mini Club for ages 4–11, and it also has adults-only areas for quieter time.
How far is the suite from the beach, the restaurants and the bars?
The resort sits on one kilometer of sandy beach just south of the town of Akumal. It has around 13 restaurants, among them the Yum buffet, Katok beachside, Dolce Vita Italian-Mexican and Frutos del Mar seafood, plus pool and beach bars. Walking time depends on where your suite is within the grounds. An internal shuttle also moves guests around the resort complex.
Do I need to reserve the specialty restaurants, and what should I wear?
Ku'uk and Frutos del Mar need a reservation and a semi-formal dress code. Katok is relaxed, needs no reservation and accepts swimwear, which suits a day spent around your plunge pool. Yum serves international buffet dishes.
What is not included, and how do I get to the resort?
Premium beverages beyond the included local drinks, and spa treatments, cost extra. Airport transfers are an add-on you can book rather than part of the rate. Cancún International Airport is about 90 km away, just over an hour by car. Tulum International Airport is roughly an hour's drive. Check-in starts at 3:00 pm and check-out is at noon.
